Explanation
(This amendment provides $88,000 from the general fund in the second year to offset the Virginia State Crime Commission's loss of federal grants. While the agency was successful in securing some additional federal grants, these grants do not offset the loss of a federal domestic violence prevention grant during fiscal year 2004. This grant, which the agency had relied upon for the previous nine years, was lost due to application errors made by the Department of Criminal Justice Services. The additional general fund support will be used to continue the employment of a staff attorney and policy analyst.)
