A. From the appropriation in this Item, $62,500 the first year is provided for the estimated increase in the operating costs of adult correctional facilities resulting from enactment of Chapter 518 of the 1998 Regular Session.
B. From the appropriation in this Item, $62,500 the second year is provided for the estimated increase in the operating cost of adult correctional facilities resulting from enactment of House Bill 346, relating to carnal knowledge of a prisoner, and $127,750 the second year is provided for the estimated increase in the operating cost of adult correctional facilities resulting from enactment of House Bill 1691, relating to unlawful possession of firearms and bail.
C. The funds shall be paid into the Corrections Special Reserve Fund, established in accordance with § 30-19.1:4 of the Code of Virginia.
D. A joint subcommittee composed of two members each from the Senate Finance Committee, the House Appropriations Committee, the House Courts of Justice Committee and the Senate Courts of Justice Committee, appointed by their respective Chairmen, shall examine the intent, implementation and procedures established by § 30-19.1:4, Code of Virginia, and make recommendations for modifications, as appropriate, to the 2000 Session of the General Assembly.
